While Golden Age can accommodate up to 135 students in a single booking, we can offer extra rooms at our neighbouring motel, River Motel for groups larger than 135 students. Plus, our on-site restaurant at Golden Age can cater upto 100 students in a single sitting, with multiple sittings available for larger groups.
Modern & Flexible Rooms
Golden Age Motor Inn has various accommodation packages to cater for large bus tours, individual school trips and all types of educational tours in Canberra.
Our newly upgraded rooms have capacity for up to 5 guests in each, with split king beds and bunk beds available to accommodate large groups.
All school bookings will be allocated to a specifc floor or geographic wing, with teachers and tour faculty staying in the same area. This area will be exclusive to your booking, with no other guests staying in the same area during your stay.
Naturally, drivers will also have their own, high-quality rooms and meals, which are free of charge.
Dining & Catering Facilities
Our kitchen, bistro dining room & spacious events hall makes coordinating meals easy throughout your stay (seating up to 100 children, and two sittings for groups larger than 100). Our reasonably priced dining packages allow school trips to enjoy bed and breakfast packages, as well as dinner for everyone.
Our on-site chef prepares all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in-house, which are nutritious, tasty and able to be tailored to most allergies or dietary requirements (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Dairy Free, Halal by request) and all packed for the coach each morning.
Plus, our office offers bottomless freshly-ground coffee and teas, along with complimentary muffins to teachers and drivers.
Our Facilities
Golden Age Motor is a large, two-story, brick motel, located just 20 minutes from Canberra CBD, Parliament House and other attractions around the heart of the ACT.
Divided into three wings, our accommodation contains guest rooms, a restaurant, a conference and business centre, along with guest laundry facilities. Our onsite restaurant is perfectly designed for large groups visiting for Canberra excursions, catering for almost all dietary requirements, across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
All rooms are fitted with reverse-cycle air-conditioning, modern furnishings, ensuite bathroom, access to free WIFI, smoke alarms, televisions and desk, and securely locked with electronic key card access.
Queen beds are provided for each teacher's private room, while a combination of bunks and single twin beds are setup in student rooms, with a bed allocated for each student.
