Great location, short walk to shops & cafes. We had a wonderful experience, with many of the wedding group also staying there. The Golden Age staff went above and beyond to cater to everyone's needs and making us all welcome, keeping rooms spotless, housekeeping each day, and delicious group meals prepared for us all (the bacon and egg rolls were the best!) All communication was clear and straightforward for booking in, and for selecting the right room size for my partner and I, and three teenagers. They were thrilled to have their own TV in their separate room. We spent a beautiful evening taking a very short stroll along the river, to enjoy a wonderful meal underneath the fairy lights of an enormous willow, at Cartel Taqueria, and then down to the Royal Hotel. Thank You Golden Age, for forming the perfect, restful, backdrop for a busy wedding weekend. We will be back, and highly recommend a stay here as a base to explore Canberra, or all the delights of Queanbeyan ( the Molonglo Nature Reserve is a beautiful spot)mali sandersMarch 11, 2024.We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Age Motel. It was in such a convenient location as it was a 5 minute walk to the centre. Our room was amazingly clean, spacious and had great facilities (fridge, kettle, toaster, iron etc). The rooms have close by car spaces, air conditioning, really comfortable beds and fantastic water pressure/temperature in the showers. We got welcomed by lovely, knowledgeable staff who made us feel right at home. Overall, it was a lovely and clean motel, with incredible staff. The location is great for a nice walk to coffee shops, stores, and restaurants. The motel is also nearby a nice pond and river full of beautiful birds. Our in-house chef will prepare the catered meals of your choice, made with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
With 30+ years of experience, our chef is happy to cater to all dietary needs – including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan.
We also have a pastry chef on site who can create stunning cupcakes for any birthdays.
Our reasonably priced dining packages allow school trips to enjoy bed and breakfast packages, as well as dinner for everyone.
Sports & Leisure
Whether you're visiting for a golf tour at Queanbeyan Golf Course, coming to watch some ice hockey, rugby and cricket, or in town for a sports carnival - we have enough room for sports teams, sports competitions, groups, attendees and more! We love creating a festival atmosphere beyond the sportsgrounds. Our various group accommodation options allow us to cater for the local Queanbeyan netball, AFL, football, soccer and rugby competitions, along with accommodation for national sports carnivals and events.
